XIE Outreach Programmes

XIE Outreach Programs is what gives a Jesuit identity to XIE. Under these the students are welcome to engage themselves in social service activities like teaching English and Maths to slum children; playing with them; talking to them about moral values, health and hygiene; and motivating them for higher education.

This year some of the second year students were teaching the difficult subjects (Basic Electrical and Electronics, Mechanics and Maths) the first year students. The remedial classes are held from 8.00 am to 8.45 am. It is appreciated by those who benefit from them. Those who are interested in teaching can approach Fr. John Rose, S.J., in Linux Research Lab.

The students who engage themselves in XOP are paid a small stipend for their travel and food. We hope to reach out to the Adivasi and poor children who are studying in Jesuit Schools in nearby districts.
